3D Art and Animation
VFX is probably the biggest part of what got me into film making in the first place. When I learned I could make lightsaber effects and muzzle flashes on my home computer I was blown away. But when I discovered I could experiment with CGI on my home desktop, I knew this was going to change everything.
For quick 3D renders or quick and dirty 3D compositing into live action footage, I'll use Andrew Kramer's Element 3D plugin for After Effects.
For full CGI shots or complex 3D renders I will use Blender. 3D work can take a lot of time to get looking just right so for the past couple of years it's become more of a hobby but it is something I really want to get back into.
Other programs I have used include Maya, Cinema 4D and 3D Studio Max.
